Wake Up - Slap in the Face - Book explaining the drastic current state of the US and the politicians' policies and agendas. You walk away with drive to help take charge and contribute to the US and its young citizens.
This book is at first depressing because it brings the actual condition of the US to the forefront. Mumford explains how other great economies have disintegrated in the past, and the US is only inches away from the same result. Of course we all recognize these issues and the directions of the US and the agendas of "career politicians," however we all place the responsibility of change with someone else. With the huge excitement of change in President Obama's campaign which is now following the same political agendas of the past politicians of the recent 20th century, the book explains that leadership needs to drastically change.
The book explains that we must take charge of our country's direction and we need to get back to the basics. We must return to an ethical focus, a long-term focus, rather than the short-term, get it now agenda of the past 50 plus years.
John Mumford backs his findings with history and studies that clearly proves his point. He also writes in a way that explains the truth which is ultimately not "Republican" or "Democrat" politics. He further explains that the blame game or passing the buck ideology is not going to float much longer before we as a country passes the point of no return.
A must read, and a must past-down to a young adult to read and share.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
