It takes a skillful author to not only put the flesh and bones back on long-dead heros, but to give themback their souls. Llewelyn and David truly live again in this book. The author also uses the character Samson as the story-teller very skillfully. The story is, of course, a tragedy, as are most stories of champions who challenge the great powers of their times. Indeed, Prince Llewelyn reminded me of Tecumseh in James Alexander Thom's book Panther in the Sky.They are men who make you wish it possible to change history. I rated this book 4 stars looking at it as a whole. There were individual parts that dragged through details of treaties and lawsuits, but by the conclusion, I was left feeling satisfied and glad I had read it.Was this review helpful?
