    Review from Erotica by Clohi

Not too long ago, I had the pleasure of reviewing Maria Isabel Pita's Guilty Pleasures. I found that book to be well written, engaging and tantalizing. When I received a copy of Maria's A Brush With Love, I was excited. One word of warning. Never do what I did and read this book while on a plane. Anguish I tell you. A Brush With Love is the story of Miranda, an artist's model who specializes in sitting nude. One night, quite by accident, Miranda begins to realize that she has a submissive side she wasn't aware of. Attracted to a married stranger in black, Miranda does the unthinkable and has wild unadulterated sex with him. Not long after she meets Michael, an artist. The two quickly become inseperable and Michael plays to Miranda's need to be submissive, controlled. This is the story of a woman becoming her master's slave and loving it. The story that Maria Isabel Pita paints is intriguing and intelligent. This isn't just sex, though that is the primary thread throughout. It's about self discovery and trust. When Miranda confesses her fantasies to Michael, she puts her trust in him to the test. Is she willing to do everything he tells here, without question? The relationship that develops is loving with an edge to it that just made the reading more unstoppable. I wasn't prepared for every twist and turn and I will admit that some of the situations were a little over the edge for me. However, A Brush With Love is worth everyone's time. Especially if you have discovered you have a slightly submissive streak of your own (like I have). And again, don't read while mid-flight. Unless you really love to torture yourself. In which case, maybe you should get to know your neighbor and see what happens.

    I tried again.

It looked so promising. Like maybe just maybe she had gotten it right this time. How wrong I was. In the beginning she informs us all that the 'emotions all all real.' Like feeling submission is so special to her no one else can even grasp it. Others have and written it so much better that Ms. Pita should not be allowed to trample and vulgarize such a beautiful bond any more. She does nothing in her book but turn a wonderful bond into pornographic visuals that leave you empty and void of all understanding of the dominant/submissive bond. It's sad that she keeps writing such horrific slop and dressing it up in D/s. She turns love and expressing it into something ugly and dirty. Maybe I shall write my own story so that Ms. Pita will leave this arena for something better suited for her like Hustler.
