As a staff writer and editor for the Shambhala Sun, Andrea Miller is highly qualified to speak on the topic of women in Buddhism. She is just one of many women shaping the face of the religion. In this book, she speaks about her first-hand experience with Buddhism in a college classroom, which she found to be too clinical. She goes on to say that "women can also have a unique perspective" and shares great stories on the topics of: relationships, mortality, mindful eating, and living life to the fullest for overcoming fear.
In a religion that has been "largely shaped and defined by men, our body and mind are two faces of one reality, and they support each other." This book is certainly worth your time if you are looking for intriguing perspectives on Buddhism and the role of women.
