    Mis-titled

The title of this book leads one to think that it is a broadly focused book about green building. However, the author instead focuses on what he frequently refers to as "last homes," houses that retired, empty-nesters might build. He also focuses on the climate and terrain of Georgia mountain country. There's nothing innately wrong with that focus, and the author certainly seems knowledgible about this niche, but for someone expecting a broader scope, the book was somewhat disappointing.

Answered my questions on building a Green House

I felt that this book supplied answers based on long time research as well as practical on hand experience over an equally long period of time. The information seems to be based on knowledge rather than on guess work.

A "MUST READ" FOR ANYONE WHO CARES ABOUT OUR ENVIRONMENT

Art Smith has done an amazing job explaining how to start building a green home and/or how to turn an existing home into a green home. This book is not only a "how to" but an explanation of the importance of doing so. Well written and easy to understand. Full of extremely timely information for us and future generations. It's the kind of book you wish everyone would read and take part in for the sake of our environment.
