The Child Makes the Man
This is an offbeat manga. There are no superheroes, guns, swords, ninjas, magic or even girls in short school uniforms. its about a 20 something man who goes home for his Grandfather's funeral to find out that his grandfather has a little girl no one knew about, and her mother is no where to be found. He's immature, but seeing his family's reaction to the little girl, he decides that he'll take care of her, not fully understanding what that entails. It follows him and the little girl learning about each other and him growing up in the process. it also discusses death, and how that may effect a small child, as well as a child's perspective on divorce and what a parent it. I will probably read the second volume when it comes out.
