    Great take on time travel!
My Opinion: Poor Casey Donovan has been accidentally traveling back to the 1860s since she was just 9 years old. She never knows when it is going to happen (although she has figured out that stress could be a trigger), but over the years she has learned to accept it and deal with it. Unfortunately, she can't have skin on skin contact with anyone because that could cause her to take that person back in time with her, which she found out accidentally when she took her best friend on a "trip" back. She's now 16 and dealing with bad hair, and a major crush on Nate Mackenzie, who doesn't even notice her. As fate would have it, when she accidentally touches Nate, whoosh! Back they go! It's now up to Casey to let Nate in on her secret and keep him safe until they can get back to the present.

I've been really lucky lately in reading books that deal with a popular topic (magic, time traveling, etc.) with a new take on it that makes them very enjoyable to read. Clockwise was one of these. I loved that Casey's time traveling was unpredictable and that she had no control over it, but she dealt with it the only way she could, head on. I also liked how mature she was in realizing that there were going to be things she would not be able to do in life, such as drive a car or fly a plane, because of never knowing when she would trip out. She was very level headed and instead of moaning and groaning over what she couldn't do, she accepted her limitations and made the best of things.

I really liked Casey because of her maturity and the way that she still acted like a teenager when it came to her family splitting up and her raging hormones when it came to Nate. I liked Nate too because he didn't just fall madly in love with Casey (I have a real pet peeve when it comes to insta-love) but let his feelings grow and become what they would without forcing it.

In all, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the second book in the series, Clockwiser. I give it a very enthusiastic 5 stars and recommend it to lovers of time-traveling YA stories :D

I received a copy of this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

    Fun summer Read!

Who wouldn’t like a story about time travel, especially if you are a young adult living the day to day issues that are so much a part of growing up. Clockwise by Elle Strauss is an engaging read, light and actually a fun experience for all ages! Young Casey travels back into the nineteenth century, and really handles the situation well-especially when you realize she has no control over when she will ‘pop’ back or forward, but at least she returns to the exact moment she left! (Whew, I can imagine her trying to explain that to her friends! ) Casey also has a crush on Nate, the stereotypical hot jock, who all the girls swoon for and she just happened to be touching him when she was transported back to around 1860 in Massachusetts and guess who came along for the ride? Is this the beginning of a beautiful relationship or a terrible nightmare? Will Nate embrace her world with keen interest? What consequences are there to their presence in the past?

Elle Strauss has woven a beautiful tapestry of two worlds, contemporary YA/middle grade and historical tidbits that expose the differences in the two eras. By letting Casey tell her story, she allows us a glimpse inside the mind of a teen with a sharp sense of humor that makes her so likeable! I commend Ms. Strauss on her ability to keep the story flowing smoothly and walking that fine line between a wonderful fantasy read and mere fluff! A great read for anyone who enjoys a little time travel with a lot of adventure and fun! Perfect for summer reading!

A review copy was provided by NetGalley and All Night Reads in exchange for my honest review.

    Nicely done

This book is very exciting, but the ending is sort of abrupt. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend this book to.

    Very good

I really enjoyed this book. The main character is resiliant and likable and her adventures in modern day high school and 1860 are really fun to read about. Her love interest is a great added character and even though he at moments is a real jerk he makes up for it by being strong and protective even though he's transported back in time. My favorite scene is at the mall in the food court.

    Okay

The plot was great and overall it was really good. The only problem was the dialogue. And sometimes important things were left out. It was a little confusing but still pretty good

    I loved it!

Casey travels through time. No one else but her BEST FRIEND EVER (lucinda) knows that.

This book was a delight to read, it was well written, had no cusses in it, and was everything i would expect a good book to have. I liked the fact that casey had to "tame" her curly hair.
