Highly recommend - a new slant on the corrections system
I'll be brief. This book should be required reading for anyone being considered for the position of prison warden. I will hasten to add that all the faith-based classes and activities mentioned in the book are strictly optional for the prisoners. No one is forced to attend OR to express any particular faith. Read it and you'll see what I mean on both accounts. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This is a great heart warming book about how lives can be transformed and about how many of these men were brought to this prison through one bad experience with alcohol or drugs. It shows the evils that can happen when people are high or drunk. Burl Cain is doing an amazing thing at this prison. Truely a heartwarming story of someone giving God's grace to people who are need it the most. He is changing lives at the same time. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. EXCELLENT READ ON PRISON REFORM
This book is truly inspirational. It is amazing that one man is capable of affecting so many in such a positive way. His lessons can be applied to life in general and not just to those incarcerated. Louisiana State Penitentiary has it's own 'Dr. Phil' running the place! Louisiana is often thought of as being in last place... this book shows what other's can learn from Burl Cain and the programs Louisiana has allowed him to implement. Louisiana is taking the lead with prison reform! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
