Boring, not even worth it as a reference
I found this book to be boring since it centralized around a fantasy world. If I want a Novel I would have bought one instead. I wanted to review my calculus but found out this book is just too much of a pain to read. Plus a lot of the problems were too hard to understand and required knowledge of physics. Point blank, I'm not looking to reading a novel and definitely not solving physics problems. I wouldn't even say that this book is the easy way to learn Calculus more like an easy way to become confused. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. What's the hard way?
I have been working through this book to refresh my skills, and have repeatedly been baffled by the exercises. I thought I was just not getting it, but began to see they were difficult. They frequently involve advanced physics equations - if you knew phyics that well, you probably wouldn't need a book called 'the easy way' (!) Exercises are not for practice, and frequently involve formula derivations and proofs, as well as doing things that are not explained in the text itself. This book is not extra practice and clearer explanations of a traditional calculus text, which is how it is portrayed on the cover. Students who want an easy introduction to calculus to supplement a class or other text will probably not find it here. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Waste of Money
The book is more of a fantasy novel then a math book. The story is long, boring, pointless, and provides very little help with calculus problems. The text doesn't match up at all with the quizzes at the end of the chapters. Word to the wise: Do not buy this book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
