Calicopaw's Prophecy, Chapter Two: The Clan

"Y-You mean StarClan?" Calico whimpered, tears pricked her green eyes. "Afraid so, hun." Snow mewed and pulled her daughter in for a hug. Rock leaned against his mother and sister, seeking comfort. Snow wrapped her tail around her son comfortingly. "There, there my dears. Someone would like to meet you." Snow whispered,"Wolf-flame, you can come out now." A gray, silver, black, and white calico tom with startling aqua blue eyes paded from the bushes. Calico and Rock gaped at him. "The Wolf-flame? As in Grandpa Wolf-flame?" Calicopaw asked, astonished by the handsome tom. "The one and only." Wolf-flame chuckled then looked at Snow with sad eyes. "Are you really sure you want to do this? You could join too." He said softly. "I'm no Clan cat, but Stormstar went on and on about how great it was. I want that life for my kits." Snow whispered. "What? Your sending us away? Why? What did we do bad momma?" Rock mewled imploringly. "No, no my little one, you did nothing wrong but leaf-bare is approaching. The Clan cats will be able to catch you more food than I would be able too. Now go along with Wolf-flame and be good for me, okay?" She mewed. The truth was Snow's body was slowly shutting down, she didn't want her kits to see her like that. "Take care of them Wolf-flame." Snow added then loped away without a backwards glance. Calico whimpered, tears rolled down her calico and white face. "Momma! Momma come back! You promised we would be together forever and always! You promised..." She cried. "I'm terribly sorry kits, come along lets go back to my Clan- OUR Clan." Wolf-flame corrected himself and led the way. Rock dropped back walking beside his littler sister who kept looking back over her shoulder. "Mom's not coming back Calico." He said softly. "I know..." Calicopaw mewed. "Isn't your Clan LightningClan?" Calico asked Wolf-flame. "Yes, we border the great WolfClan." Their grandfather replied. "Wow! Really? WolfClan?" Rock asked, his blue eyes wide in amazement. "Really and truly." Wolf-flame replied.
