The Cancer-Fighting Kitchen is a MUST HAVE.
While looking for recipes to help my husband battle brain cancer this cookbook is a stand out!
The pictures alone will get your attention and mouth watering. Not only does Rebecca Katz provide great recipes, but she also has the information, nutrition breakdown and personal notes to back them up. The information about Cancer-Fighting Ingredients and the Cancer-Fighting Tool Kit are such great tools and information. It details out treatment side effects and the recipes that will help during these stressful times. The food not only helps the people fighting cancer but is great for everyone and tastes great too! A real joy to have and use.
If you are looking for a great gift to help someone with cancer or a caregiver of a cancer patient this is it!6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

Buy It!
I am a trained chef AND a cancer survivor, so I have a level of expertise above and beyond the typical cookbook consumer. This exceptional book includes delicious, nourishing AND easy recipes, a thorough & frank discussion about how to deal with transient taste change during and after treatment, and even more importantly, Rebecca shows cancer patients & their families how to assemble & train a nutritional support group. So user friendly, even a loving spouse/teenagers or that considerate, well-intentioned neighbor or friend will be able to prepare the foods you need to eat during your treatment & recovery. I am not a medical professional, however I have done my own thorough and exhaustive survey of nutritional therapies in the research & literature and I have not identified any info in this book that contradicted anything that I have previously read. I highly recommend it!

Helped me to EAT when I didn't have the Stomach for it
I am so grateful to Rebecca Katz and Mat Edelson. I had nauseau with my chemo and couldn't eat a thing. I highly recommend this book. The vegetable based soup was perfect and the only thing I could eat, when I couldn't eat. Try it!

Fabulous Resource
I checked this book out from the library shortly after my mother in law was diagnosed with Stage 3b cervical cancer. I loved it so much I bought it. The recipes are FANTASTIC and the information empowering for those trying to help a loved one fight cancer. Another reviewer mentioned she was having difficulty finding low fiber diets. I had the same problem but found this book had some options. The broths and teas are staples for my household to this day even though we lost Gail in June 2010.

Great book. I have browsed it so far and paid special attention to certain sections. I like this because the author has very thoughtfully arranged and included eating for certain situations such as prior to chemo, during chemo, after chemo.
This book not only includes great recipes but also advice, tips and tricks to help the cancer patient make it through tough times. And when were going through something it is usually tough. Greatbook.
