This will not last more than a few months. This is our second one.Due to the poorest design ever produced, it is broken again. Barns& Noble will not replace it even though it obviously a design problem. I used to be a fan of the Nook and B&N, but I can't be a fan of anyone that will not back up their own product. If I could I would give this product zero stars, but apparently that is not possible

SO annoyed with the Nook color charger situation. Not only does it break a lot....now I can't replace my charger and cannot use my Nook. Really? Why not just make one charger works for all of the Nook products. Or something. This is horrible customer service and I am very disappointed.

The plug is so short it makes it almost impossible to remove from the port in my car.  I had to do the same thing as another reviewer and use pliers to remove it from the port..  Then because I used pliers it got all chewed up.  Very unhappy with product with what I paid.

An alternative, especially since this is out of stock, is to buy either a USB to car outlet adapter, since the Nook cords all have a USB end, or buy a wall-plug to car outlet adapter and plug the Nook in to charge the same way you would at home.

I love my Nook Color which I got for Christmas a couple of years ago. I HATE the fact that I have had to replace the charging cord so often, despite the care I take with them. This will be the fourth cord in three years.

I have gone thru two power cords already and now I need another one. These cords SUCK !!! I guess I have no other choice for a replacement. I wish that I could trade in my nook color for a tablet.

This item comes with a USB car adapter, standard microUSB cord (for pretty much anything), and a proprietary NOOK Color/Tablet cord. The kit shows its versatility in 3 ways. 1) The standard cable will take care of Simple Touch NOOK devices as well as many non-NOOK products; 2) the proprietary cable will handle both the Color and the Tablet - cables which historically have short life spans and, therefore, offers a replacement; and 3) the adapter will service any electronic device that requires 2100 mah (2.1 Amps) of power provided you BRING YOUR OWN CABLE. That's right, you can charge your NOOK HD/HD+ with this adapter along with the HD/HD+ cable you already own. Let me make sure this is perfectly clear; bring your NOOK HD/HD+ cable out to your car from inside the house, plug it into the car adapter, and it will charge your NOOK HD/HD+. The NOOK HD/HD+ cable is NOT included. (whew!) Two areas for improvement: 1) Add 1/2 inch of length to the adapter and knurl the edges so it can be removed from the lighter socket without damaging it. I promise not to speak disparagingly of the designer out loud here. 2) Advertise the actual specifications of the adapter. I've had my nook for just over a year and a half and the charger goes bad. I didn't have a problem w/ having to purchase another one, but the website says they are available in stores, and yet when I visit the store they say they aren't getting any more. I'm not impressed or happy with this product, and I don't like being sent on wild goose chases. I don't know if I would buy readers from this company in the future.

I must say that my disappointment with nook customer service is a understatement. it is a feeling that is obviously shared by many as I have read customer reviews for the first time. my nook color charger tip has broken 3 times in 3 years. it was not available in local B &amp; N store and was told it was discontinued and I should try on line. I have sent 2 complaints regarding this situation to no avail. herei was ,ready to buy yet another charger when B &amp; N would rather I spend another $250 on another nook. fat chance!!!! take my advice. give your business to some company that appreciates your business.

95 % of us have or had the nook color charger problem. Has any one found any one at Barnes who cares? If so please share so we can all get to an individual who might do something. What a Shame. Or is too late and they are going under?

I have had to purchase 3 chargers! If I would have known I would have never bought a Nook Color. When this charger bites the dust I am going to invest in a tablet of some sort. Not made by Nook. I am done with B&amp;N products.  This has been an ongoing problem for years now and nobody seems to care. I can't wait to wash my hands of this pathetic product.

Although I really like my nook tablet I'm disappointed that the chargers and other products for it are not in stores anymore. My nook still works so why should  I get a new one. You (barnes&amp;noble) should still make accessories available for people who still are using nook color and nook tablet. Gave one star not for the charger but for the availablity of the accessories

Zero Stars. This item 9781616825737 is not correct for the nook HD+. It has a cable for NOOK First Edition and NOOK Color only. These cables do not fit the NOOK HD, which has a unique non mini USB power port. Apparently Barnes and Noble Website is incorrect. This description is inaccurate and essentially fraudulent.  The box received matches the item number, but this item number described as  for the NOOK HD+ is not correct.  Do not order, call customer service.

This is a bunch of *^*&amp;&amp;%$. You can't buy online - stores don't stock and can't tell you when they will get stock so you are left with a product that you can not charge up to use. I am soooooooooooooooo very frustrated at their customer service. I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE

My third Nook cord has failed, and yet again my kids need to use their Nook for a book report. I have looked all over for a department store that sells Nook after market power cords. Guess what? No one carries the Nook cords. It is similar to the USB micro cable but the pins on the Nook plug are proprietary i.e. you cant buy an aftermarket cord. Barnes and Noble stores don't stock the cords anymore and were happy to sell me a new Nook. I finally found a vendor that sells a replacement cord. Its called a Kindle if Barnes and Noble wants to treat their customers so poorly and not stock just a few replacement plugs for those who need them NOW. Then Kindle is a suitable replacement. They are selling everywhere and I don't have to drive to B and N to find out they don't care about the end user. I guess they forgot they have competition and customer service and immediate gratification is how most retailers operate. I need a cord NOW not in 3 to 5 working days. How much shelf space could the replacement cords take up compared to the customers leaving because they are disgusted.

I love my Nook tablet-when it works. Can't find a replacement charger anywhere...not available in stores or online. This is horrible customer service...I'm very disappointed in B&amp;N...you would think a company would stand behind their product if they really believe in it. The chargers are junk and break...keep reading reviews...so many with the same problem?! NOT a coincidence!

CRAPPY DEsIGN...and product availability. I will never suggest a nook to anyone. I have to keep replacing charger cables. I used to be able to get them for $10.00 + .now you have to get the charger and the cable for more money !! ONWARD to Kindle !!!!!!!!

I am also very upset about the nook color charging cord. The B&amp;N staff at 2 different stores told me the problem was due to a design flaw. However, since my device is not under warranty, nothing will be done. Its a good thing GM, Ford. Toyota, etc doesn't operate like this. And not only do I need a new cord AGAIN because of the design flaw, but I can't even BUY one at your stores. if there is an admitted design flaw, why is a newly designed cord not provided for each Nook Color based on serial number? B&amp;N, the ball is in your court... will you save a customer by sending me a new cord or will you, instead, send ME to Amazon to buy a Kindle. Let me know what I should wait for a new cord or go shopping for a new device. With a new cord, I will change my rating to how I feel about the device (5) instead of the customer service, which is a (1)!

I am getting my sixth charging cable.  My personal opinion is that they made these cords bad on purpose. Not only only that you are stuck ordering them on line.  I also think that by making the cords so poorly they are hoping we will buy the newest nooks

I too have been disappointd with the NOOK cable. But a standard micro-USB cable works to charge and sync my NOOK colo0r. And it costs less.

I am so annoyed! I have been trying to purchase a replacement car charging cord for over one year. I have been unable to obtain one in the store. The stores are unable to obtain one. When I have attempted to order one online, I have been unsuccessful. No one ever has a satisfactory answer when I call with the problem. Customer support rating from me is zero!!!!
