Voices of Experience Guide the Way

Dorothy Moore's newest book, Careerpreneurs--Lessons From Leading Women Entrepreneurs On Building A Career Without Boundaries, is important for women (and men) who want to investigate professional options. She provides readers with concrete steps for making career assessments and for strategically mapping out new avenues for professional careers, in general, and, more specifically, for entrepreneurial ventures. This practical approach includes 'paper and pencil' exercises for gaining personal insights into self-motivation as well as interrogative guidelines for starting a new venture. Moore's work is framed by the voices of experience - women entrepreneurs themselves. Their candor is extremely valuable. Though I disagree with Moore's restricting the concept of entrepreneurship to those who 'focus on a new product or idea...' (p. 176), the value of the content of this book deserves to be heralded.

    Fantastic Career Guidance

'A must-read for women in transition.and who isn't? I wish I'd had this book years ago when I was transitioning from social work to business education; and yet, I find it extremely helpful as I move now, twenty years later, from an academic environment into homebased business ownership. Dorothy Perrin Moore has interviewed hundreds of women and discovered the multitudinous ways women build careers and move through the various stages of their work lives. Excellent and encouraging examples! If you're not sure what you want to do in your work life, there are a gazillion ideas in this book! Well written and researched, Moore validates the opportunities women have today to create careers without boundaries.'
