Doesn't Live Up To It's Promise
Marafiotti spends too much time talking about what he thinks is wrong with how voice is taught, and not enough time giving solutions. There is only a small chapter on actual singing methods that he recommends. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Simplicity the way?
Hello there!!!! I would like to share my thoughts about Mario Marafioti book and let me start with: I used to take voice lesson and spend a lot of money trying to learn how to sing. Most of the teacher thought me about breathing, diaphragm and so on. After a while of getting not where. I decided to stop taking lesson and spend more time studying what singing is about it. So I bought and read books like: Cornelious Reid, Lamperti, Orel Brown, 'How to sing', 'Training tenor voices'and so on, but not one of them told me something diferent, most of them talk about the same line, breathing, diaphragm and so on... So I decide to look for something diferent/simple, and that's how I bought Mario Marafioti book. It was the first time did not hear about breathing, diaphragm, support. Instead of it, I hear simplicity, easy and freedom and thoughts that made sense to me. Marafioti expalind so clearly the voice production and how to approach the voice development in a natural process. Now I understand that breathing is an important factor 'BUT NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT AS I THOUGHT BEFORE' as he said singing develops the breathing power not breathing singing - - - which means also, the minimun of energy for the maximum of efficiency-- This book thought me so much that I am so happy to have it. If you are interested in his teaching there is another book of him 'The New Vocal Art'. A warning thought: Marafioty books are simple writting, so commit yourself to study them and you will get the idea. Singing is......!!! There are different ways to get Rome. I had found mine hopefuly tou too.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
