Casey Kasem Presents: America's Top Ten - The 70's Singer/Songwriters
A spin-off of Casey Kasem's longstanding radio program, America's Top 10 is another series collecting radio favorites into easily-digestible packages. This particular installment focuses on the singer/songwriter craze of the 1970s. While it doesn't dig very deep, it's packed with hits, making it suitable for the casual fan./i>/a>

What a terrible shame to take so many fantastic songs and edit them for the worst. Great classiscs such as "American Pie" and "Year of the Cat" are cut short by about one third of their original playing time. AND FOR WHAT? Are you telling me that there is not enough room on a compact disc to put the full version of these classics in their entirety. I must say that Casey Kasem should be ashamed to lend his name to a CD full of classics that stop short of the full length of the original length of such lengendary classics. Just when American Pie really gets rolling it comes to a faded end before its time for example. And that's not the only song that ends prematurely. This CD is a huge dissapointment and Casey Kasem should be ashamed to lend his name to it. My advice, spend the extra cash and get the original and full version of the songs you like on this lineup from the artists original albums. This CD is a disgrace.
A sultry, sensual song, Summer Breeze was my quest and in searching by song title I discovered this wonderful Casey Kasem Presents cd of The Singer/Songwriters of the 70s. Each tune brings happy memories. Another sensual song, Aint No Sunshine, is a wonderful addition to my cd collection and now as I sit on my deck, heating up the grill, cool drink in hand, I can catch the summer breeze and listen to some mighty fine music!
