This cat's meow is steeped with good humor!

Calliope thought everything was squared away after rescuing her father and restoring the balance in the Afterlife. However, she still owes Cerberus a debt for borrowing his daughter and finds herself on a wild goose chase for an Egyptian architect who has somehow escaped death. Calliope discovers that she has bitten off more than she can chew and encounters unexpected enemies along the way.

cat's claw is actually my favorite of the series thus far. I loved the story arc with Cerberus wanting to collect on Calliope's debt and trick her into replacing him as the guardian of the North Gate of Hell. I think death's daughter set the stage, but Book 2 really takes the story to the next level and flows quite nicely. Familiar and new characters to enjoy, the world Amber Benson has created is steeped with mythology and good humor.

    Fast and Smart

Calliope blusters and BSs her way through this adventure - every bit as entertaining as the first book. Excellent character growth showing up here, the book is a pretty fast read, well paced action. Definitely worth a read.

Cat's Claw is humorous with just a touch of romance but it's not too mushy.

Cat's Claw is one of my new favorite series! It is humorous with just a hint of romance. So it's not too mushy but makes you chuckle out loud. The characters are put in some very unusual and unique situations. I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the next book. It was also a pleasant surprise to find out that the author was in one of my favorite TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So if you liked Buffy you just might enjoy this book.

    It's a fun book.

This is the second book in the series and can fit in the urban fantasy, paranormal mystery, and chick lit categories.

I do like this series. It's a pleasant and fast reading experience. It does have a strange characteristic that it shares with the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine: I have a difficult time remembering details and particulars about the stories even it it's just a few days later. Either way, I'd recommend that people read the books. I certainly will continue to look for more books (in both series).

    Cat's Claw was fun

Don't judge the book by its cover or short description. The story is unique and Callie (the main character) is quirky & sarcastic. The book won't change your life, but it was an entertaining, light read. It's brain candy - it might not be good for you, but everyone likes a sweet treat every now and then. Frankly, it was more fun then Lost Symbol. No need to read Death's Daughter to follow it and this book ends substantially better anyways.
