I love Doreen Tovey and her stories about life with cats

Seen him on television?! One of the first things Solomon, the seal point Siamese, asks people as soon as he sees them. No more running away and hiding for he and Sheba, his blue point sister.

This book is the further adventures of keeping Siamese in the English countryside in the late 50’s. The trouble they can get into, or lead others into.

Adventures with Timothy, Father Adams grandson, the up and down sides of living in a small village and tales of life with a squirrel (he’s the reason they have cats.) There are also anecdotes of why a childhood spent with her animal loving Grandmother going from mishap to mishap prepared her for a life with her husband Charles.

These books are fun and make you laugh. They are from a different time and place and I enjoy them because they open a window onto that time, the characters are all rich with quirks of their own but the cats steal the show.
