Best Bio of the man who changed our view of nature
This is by far the best biography of a man of science that I have ever encountered. Browne's treatment is thorough, informed and extremely well-organized and -written - a virtual "can't put it down." Not only does it get into the mind of the man but presents an excellent view of the persons, events and ideas surrounding him, showing how they affected his thinking. I eagerly await the second volume. And by the way, if the BBC wants to do a long series on Darwin, here is the place to start.
