Paranormal Romance succeeds in this case
This book is one of the most amazing things that i have experience in reading out of almost every romance novel that i have encountered on. "Chasing Midnight" by Susan Krinard is what i call a romance with a twist to it. I know it sounds cheesy but things just work out like that in my head. The point is that i have never read a book that came with so many twist in it that i was willing to stay up and read it forever at a time. From every book that i have read so far, i would recommend this book to anyone is just bored and want to read on a rainey day or even if its a student and has nothing to do on a break. If anything this book would turn things out of what it is usually acquired to =]

A Romance of Substance with a Great Setting
I enjoyed the Roaring Twenties setting very much and loved the mix of vampires and werewolves and the social mores of the time. The story itself was enjoyable for me as I was reading this for distraction from work stress, pleasure, a stay-cation activity with all the conveniences of home and no TSA to hassle with - this book provided me with all of that and food for thought. I liked it so much that I am leaving it on my shelf - which has very little room for extra books. That's always a good sign for an author. I look forward to more of her books.

A real drag
I expected a lot more from this story. Sadly, it didn't deliver. There was no chemistry between Allie and Griffen to make their love for one another seem believable. The story dragged on and on before anything remotely exciting happened, both romantically and with the race war. I hate to give such a bad review, but this book doesn't compare to Krinard's other work.

Fans will believe that werewolves and vampires enjoy speakeasies and dens of iniquity as Prohibition New York City comes alive. The cross star romance is well written due to conflict between species, but it is the historical Big Apple that turns Susan Krinard¿s tale into a juicy bite.---------- Harriet Klausner
