This book is the sequel to The Sparrow, the first book was okay

This book is the sequel to The Sparrow, the first book was okay and I was caught by the story of Emilio the priest. I wrestled with the writing style because it is very intense labor to read. I was able to hang onto the story line but there were times I threw the book down because the writing style is so complex, I haven't finished the book yet because I find myself wishing the author would just get to the point in words that the average Joe can understand. I would not reccommend this for someone who just wants to read a good story. The writer is a scholar obviously, and to someone who cares about the intellectual parts of this book it would be great, but I have to say I enjoyed the first book more, but by the almost end of the second book I was sick to death of trying to decipher what the sentence was actually saying. I guess I'm just not smart enough for this kind of book.LOL
