Wow! Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. The book should have been titled 'Murphy's Law.' The main character is a starship pilot named Priscella Hutchins. Calamaty Jane would have been a better name. She had more tragic incidents than one could imagine. Also, the plot is improbable, and the 'science' part of 'science fiction' is not believable. This 500+ page novel should have been written on about half as much paper. I didn't like this one, and I probably won't read McDevitt again. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
