Irritating things are also flowing water!
The title here is one of Chiyo's haiku. She has a way of turning things to the positive without losing any depth at all. I am sometimes fearful of change, especially as I get older, but I keep thinking of Chiyo's poem and I am glad the world must change -- glad that I must change. The editors of this book have written a masterpiece, which sets Chiyo-ni's awesome poetry in the context of the history of haiku and amidst her fellow 18th c. women haiku poets in Japan. The book also teaches the way of haiku as a spiritual path. Water is a central image -- gentle, cool, and crystal clear. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
