This is a book for women, but I read it because Kay Warren wrote it, and knowing of her medical struggles, I was interested how she would approach choosing joy. I was not disapointed. The content can be applied to men as well, but most of the trials and challenges are applicatble to women and their lifestyles. One thing Kay brought out is that we all have heartache at one time or another, but it is the choice we make to allow our circumstance dominate or whether we trust God and move forward. We must prioritize and determine where we will spend our energy, either feeling sorry for ourselves or shaking the dust off and moving forward with God's help. We still have the responsibility to act and do, but God cares for our lives and will help us THROUGH our trials, not skirt AROUND them. I gain much strength from her book and I recommend it to everyone.
