A "Gift" That Will Last For a Very Long Time!

Bill Bennett's "gift" is in telling a story that not only holds your interest, but remains in your thoughts long after you've finished his book. I can't think of anyone I know who won't be moved (and changed) by the wonderful lesson given in this poignant story so masterfully told by Mr. Bennett. I'm looking forward with great anticipation to future lessons from this terrific new author. This truly is a GIFT! Thank you.

    A year-round favorite

The Christmas Gift is a phenomenal story that we've incorporated into our annual family holiday traditions. My favorite thing about the book is how I was able to relate to each of the characters in different ways. Most of us, some more frequently than others, have been in Scott's shoes: the new kid in school, struggling to find friends, and the brunt of others' jokes. We've also probably at some point been in Ben's shoes, misunderstood, and putting up a front to cover a piece of us that we don't want anyone else to see. As the characters experience difficult, but necessary growth, I was pulled in by the remarkable similarities to what I've experienced. Hopefully there is a little of the changed Ben and Scott in each of us too.

While the title brands the book as one to be read during the holidays, it is by no means a "Christmas Story", and will certainly be enjoyed by many throughout the year. While it centers on so-called "Christian" values, members of all faiths will enjoy and appreciate its lessons of forgiveness and compassion.

I give The Christmas Gift five stars for its engaging story, excellent character development, and touching message.

Highest recommendation-give yourself this "Christmas Gift!"

The Christmas Gift was a pleasant surprise. I received it as a gift and had no particular expectations. I started the book late one night before bed, sometime later (well after midnight) I finished it in tears. (I actually feared that my sniffling would wake my wife who had long since dozed off.)

In the telling of this simple story Mr. Bennett delivers a powerful sermon on what it really means to be a Christian, to have our hearts full of the pure love of Christ and how charity changes everything. I think the reader will relate to any number of characters in the book at different times as I most surely did.

I liked it so much I purchased 10 copies to give to friends and family. The Christmas Gift is a simple but powerful story that is sure to change the way you look at others.
