Aiden and Noel first felt the spark of attraction between them as innocent teenagers but 9 years later they meet again. Aiden seeks out the French girl he's never forgotten as part of his quest for peace. The loss of his parents and a difficult tour with the US Army in Iraq have left him closed down and searching for a new direction in life. Stephanie Burkhart's descriptions of French life and in particular the battlegrounds of World War II add a rich sense of history and culture to this charming romance. As the passion between the couple burns there are many questions they need to answer before they can consider making a future together. Ms. Burkhart weaves the different story threads together with skill to a satisfying conclusion.

    Great Read!

This was just a wonderful and heart warming read. It made me put myself in the place of the hero who had just come from the Iraq war, and built up walls to protect others from his sadness. I also felt for Noel, the heroine, who was so alone, missing Aiden from when she'd been a foreign exchange student at his home in America. The sorrow amidst the words of this story had my heart in a vice, feeling for both of them.

Great job! I'm looking forward to reading more of Stephanie's works. :)
