A reviewer
This book is positively amazing with creepy, macabre disturbia at its' best. Lee pulls no stops on this thrilling, practically suicidal ride that will leave you craving more.

Damnation has never been so much fun!
Edward Lee's take on horror is not for mainstream horror fans. Like the late Richard Laymon, his work will sometimes shock and disgust those who don't have an eye for this more potent blend of horror. As far as I'm concerned City Infernal is one of the best horror novels of recent years. Without giving too much of the plot away, the book centers around hell as a city. The mythology of the hell Edward Lee presents here is very unique and extremely interesting. As we tour through the streets of hell, we learn everything about life down in the underworld. Including politics, terrorism, drugs, sex, STDs, money, mythos, law enforcement, and even some metaphysical stuff thrown in that is rich and layered. There's is a kind of beautifully disorienting feel to Lee's writing that simultaneously scares and intrigues and with City Infernal Lee pulls out all the stops. Followed by a sequel.

Would be a great movie!!!!
I've read alot of Edward Lee and would have to say that this book was one of the best. If you've read this book and haven't read Infernal Angel...FIND IT, READ IT!!!!! The story continues in Infernal Angel, letting you know what role Cassie plays in all of this, well, Hell!! This would be a visual treat as a movie. Gory and filled with chaos. I Loved, loved, loved this book!!!!

Well done.
I have enjoyed all of the infernal books. They are origional, thrilling, and no holds barred writing. I thought Clive Barker wasn't afraid to write what he wanted! Well Edward Lee seems to take that even a step further. It will not appeal to everyone, but if you are not afraid of the DARK, you will love these books. I only wish I could find more!

A page turning good time
I seen this book at a local bookstore and the premise caught my interest. I said to myself why not and bought it. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly shocked. It is one of the better horror novels I have read. It is full of action and gore but, it has more than just that. Cassie the books main character is well developed, and you really become attached to her as the book goes along. It also gives most people's view of Hell a modern upgrade. It is a booming metropolis with skyscrapers, parks, nightclubs, apartments buildings etc. It is a well thought out Novel. This is the first Edward Lee book I have read but it wont be the last.

A Must Read
This is by far the best book that I have read so far. It is filled with so much emotion and the images are wonderful. Once you start this book you won't want to put it down. A must if you like a little horror with gore and a pinch of real life twist.

Quite a shock!
When I first saw the cover I knew that I was going to like it. And I was right, form the time I took it home till about 4 hours later I was glued. It had only took that day for me to finish the book. I think that if you like the scary kind of books, you would really enjoy this one. Edward lee puts you in the book with the charaters.

Just Ok...
Very interesting idea and neat concepts, but the author lacks the skills to pull it off. Simply written, but gaps and under developed parts of the story make the transitions a bit jarring. The author states the obvious, rather than letting the story unfold. Parts that are suppised to be scary, or unnerving, or grotesque fail because the story is clipped and hastily written. Bummer

CITY INFERAL ONE HELL OF A BOOK
Edward Lee describes the "CITY" with vivid detail un-surpassed by any other writer of the genre. I do alot of reading and it is hard to find a book that you dont put down until you are done but I found this to be true in Edward Lee's novel CITY INFERNAL
