    Simply delightful and easy

    I loooove this book!! So delightful with not only simple recipes, but also because of the wonderful stories and background information. Not only do you want to make the food, you want to hug this lovely little grandma! :-) I've tried the Poorman's Meal so far. Enjoyed it! Do yourself a favor and BUY this book.

    Clara's Kitchen is a wonderful walk down memory lane for the wise and an education for the young. A book that teaches this generation to appreciate what we have and how to stretch a dollar.

    I purchased Clara's Kitchen for my Mom. She also lived through the depression and could relate to Clara's experiences and recipes. She said that, "it was wonderful to relate to all the things Clara spoke of during the depression. It brought back many memories."
    Mom calls her sister in Virginia Beach and reads passages from Clara's book and it brings them both to the past with giggles!
    The recipes gave my Mom incentive to teach my nephew how to cook a few dishes during his February break from school. He especially enjoyed the potato and egg omlet.
    It also teaches the generation of today how to eat well but budget their money at the grocery store along with planting a vegetable garden. Clara is now 94 years old, my Mom is 87. I suggest that we all learn a wonderful lesson from this lovely lady.
    Hats off to her Grandson Christopher for seeing the need to share his Grandmother's knowledge.

    Heartwarming and Wonderful

    I'd seen Clara's videos on youtube and had to get her book when it came out. I started reading it the night it arrived and I couldn't put it down. Her stories of family persevering in hard times touched my heart. She is a wonderful woman and her book is so special - with recipes that anyone can afford to make. I highly recommend this book, especially if you have dear friends or grandparents to shop for this holiday season. It is one that will be sincerely appreciated.

    Clara's Kitchen

    This is a really good old world cookbook. It had some of my grandmothers recipes in it. If your collector it is a great book to add to your collection.
