lighten up, moms

Boys don't read. These are the works that might hold their attention long enough to get them to the last page. No intelligent person believes B&N is suggesting these are exclusively for boys.

The books look great. But I am so turned off by the marketing of the adventure stories package as "for boys." Yes, I know that girls and their parents have the prerogative to buy them as well, but children are easily manipulated by marketing. And it just perpetuates the pigeon-holing many parents are battling against. The same goes for the "for girls" label on the fantasty package. It is sooo last century. I have a girl and a boy, who are happy to read both. Come on, Barnes & Noble, how about removing the gender labels from your categories and join the rest of us in the (post-feminist?!) 21st century.

Seriously people?!? Find something better to do with your lives.

Seriously people?!? Find something better to do with your lives. I have a boy and a girl. It is INCREDIBLY difficult to find books for my son. I find it very easy to find things for my daughter but that goes for everything from clothes, shoes, and toys. Finding things for boys is a bit more tricky and I love that this set has al the action and adventure that my son will love. Its just a label that helps us frustrated moms find the things we are looking for. I can't wait to read these with him and I'm sure his siter will love them too. Please don't give things 1 star because of a title, its very misleading and then I have to read through ridiculous comments trying to find out if there is actually anything wrong with the product itself.
