    Mountain Dynasty/Leslie West_Felix Pappalardi

Palm Bay, Florida; stephen arnade; I am amazed how little Mountain is remembered today. They were as good as rock music got back in the 1970s. In the Rolling Stone Magazine (April 1,1999 Special Issue, Issue 809) Johnny Ramone is quoted as saying Leslie West never gets any recognition. He was, to me, one of the top five guitar players of his era. I am not wanting to diminish the other albums Mountain produced, but if want to hear one of the top five guitar players of that era working well with the others in his band, this is it. _______ Mountain is one of these bands that came together and produced an incredible first album. This album came out in 1970 and was a true power trio band. The great hit song “Mississippi Queen” is on this album. But the band Mountain was more then just “Mississippi Queen”. Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi just worked well. Songs like "For Yasgur Farm" and "Never In My Life" show the band was not a one-hit-wonder. I am amazed how little Mountain is remembered today. They were as good as rock music was back in the 1970s. .
