    Dine like a Parisian

This comprehensive book lets you dine like a Parisian. Clotilde Dusoulier gives you background information so you don't feel like you're reading just an ordinary guidebook. She truly is giving insider information. Our time in Paris was too limited for us to follow too many of her recommendations, but her write-ups on the places we did go to was accurate, informative, and insightful. She truly captured the "feel". I have two wishes, though. I wish the book were a bit smaller and definitely lighter so that it would be more comfortable to carry as one wanders around Paris and that it had location maps. Until we had our bearings, which took a couple of days, it was difficult to find what we wanted in the book. It would have been great if we could have located where we were on a map and then identified establishments nearby.

    Paris for foodies - YUM

If you want to leave the museums to your traveling companion, seeking out the food places suggested in Clotilde's book makes Paris all the more fun. Not enough time, though, to do everything. Next time....

Eat your way through Paris with this book!

Before I went to Paris this May, I had read through this entire book and had it full of post-it-notes and highlighted where I wanted to go. This is the perfect book for anyone who loves to eat and wants to learn about all the favorite local spots!! Clotilde's recommendations were perfect! We didn't get to do everything on my list, but we did many.

We enjoyed a fabulous tasting menu lunch at Les Fabbles de La Fontaine after we walked around the Eifel Tower. I bought wonderful truffle oil at La Maison de la Truffe, and several kinds of mustard at Maille, colorful macaroons at Fauchon and enjoyed oysters at a small bar at L'Ecume Saint Honore'. If you love small pastry/cooking items/copper pots, then you must go to E. Dehillerin. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a worth a stop. Also, check out one of Paris' outdoor farmer's markets. I could go on and on.

I will definitely read through this book again the next time I go to Paris. Thanks for a much needed book for a foodie!
