Well written, easy to follow, perfect pace

This book does several things right. First, the tone and pace of the book are suitable for less experienced developers, but isn't laden with "training wheels" for the complete beginning developer. If you've got any type of familiarity with a C/Java/C#-like language, you'll be able to keep up. If you're a C++ guru, but new to the Mac and Xcode, you'll be able to zip through and still remain interested and engaged. The writing style is casual but not impertinent.
Secondly, there are lots of practical tips, best practice recommendations, and real-world advice alongside the step-by-step tutorials. This means the book will still have value and a place on my shelf as long as I'm still doing Mac/Cocoa work.
Last, but not least, the book has a lay-flat binding. This means I can have the book open on the coffee table, right next to my MacBook, and I don't need to find heavy objects to pin the book open when I want to follow along with a tutorial step or type in some sample code.
