Some recipes make the book worth the price of admission!

I bought this cookbook last week, and have tried out a few of the recipes. The ' 'Billy's skirt steak marinade' is excellent, and my family loved it (all picky eaters). The savory flat breads are amazing, too. If I like nothing else, these two recipes make the book ...Read More

    I Also Recommend:

    My new favorite!

This is a great "basic" book. Recipes for the simple things in life- meat loaf, mashed potatoes, etc.- with a twist to make them special. But not "fancy" the way Martha would make them. Really good family fare that takes foods you know to the next level. We use this for weeknight dinners at least twice a week. One of my best investments.

    LOVE IT

This is the first cook book I haven't been overwhelmed by, and don't need a glossary of cooking terms. The recipes are great, easy to follow, and take under a half hour of preparation. There's a lot of insight into entertaining, and there are different recipe categories '& drinks too!' As a very, very basic beginning level cook & hostess, this book I can actually relate too. My new fiance' is thrilled with the recipes too. I love at the end of the book, she lists kitchen tools and basics to have on hand, which helped me tremendously when I was registering for wedding gifts! As far as I'm concerned, this girl can do no wrong and I really hope she does another cook book.

I was not disappointed with this book...

It delivered great recipes and a really wonderful insight to a warm and loving family. Recipes are simple and delicious. I wish Katie all the best and look forward to more of her cookbooks.

Great Cookbook with Easy to Follow Recipes

I just purchased this book and am LOVING the recipes. Not only do most of them look delicious, they also appear relatively easy to make. Very impressed!

    Pleasantly surprised

I was very pleasantly surprised with this cookbook. The recipes looked like the same ones we are seeing these days, but upon further reading and trying the recipes I found them to be just the opposite. The recipies are easy to follow, most are not time consuming, and use healthier ingredients. I was very excited to find a new recipe for Chicken Divan, it is delicious! I am going to recommend this cook book to others. It is a great new cookbook that is perfect for preparing interesting meals during the week when I have little time to spare. Thank you!

    A reviewer

Any cookbook that has a recipe for sweetened ice tea makes me think the author isn't really a cook. Who doesn't know how to make sweetened ice tea...you make tea you add sugar. If you want to see a lot of pictures of the author this is a good book for that. For cooking....not so much!

    Not impressed

This book is very simplistic and offers nothing particularly unique. The meals are quick and easy which is a bonus - but there is nothing you have not had before or couldn't come up with on your own. Author seems very phony - so the sentimental tone the book reaches for fails, too. I feel like I wasted my money.

    A pretty bland cookbook

I saw a copy today and it was a pretty average take on food. Her spin on these recipies and family ancidotes aren't worthy of my money.
