    Thought provoking Info

This book describes the problems with current policy and what needs to change for the US to go forward. It also describes some cuts to Social Security and Medicare that will affect me but are needed. One cannot miss the facts.

This book is a necessary read for tomorrow's success

This book lit a fire underneath me moving me to submit great business ideas that could one day result in a start up. its Patriotic in its message because it gives you a cause worth fighting for. The author compels you to take action for the next generation. He draws you out of a state of indifference which is fueled by the ignorant thinking that, "what will happen will happen" regardless of my commitment. He does an excellent job allowing the statistics to do what statistics are suppose to do - I highly recommend reading this book if you are looking for a purpose to exist.

    Highly Recommend

Everyone in a position of leadership either in government or business should read this book. Hopefully, we implement the changes necessary to not have the possible outcome he suggests that could happen if we don't make changes now. America could loose out to other countries and no longer be the "place" where people will have plenty of quality job options and want to start a business.

    A good perspective

Most seasoned managers have heard the adage "you can't manage what you don't measure". Clifton makes a strong case that the problem in many of our companies, our cities and indeed in our nation, the problem is we are measuring the wrong stuff. We measure economic data, not behavioral data. If we are to suceed in the coming decades we need to focus our efforts on providing what people want not what they did. Clifton uses extensive, but simple to understand data, to make the case that what people want is a good, stable job. Create enough good jobs with ample opportunity for growth and you will have a good company. Having lots of good companies makes for a great city. And having a lot of great cities makes for a great nation. Clifton makes his case well and keeps his reader engaged in the material. It is a good read.

    Interesting and frightening

Good info from polling data on worldwide scarcity of jobs. But authors authoritarian and utopian conclusions are misguided.
