    Wonderfully Frank Book! Refreshingly Excellent!

Where can you start? I will be short in this review. Get the book. If you lead a group or are a pastor, this is a great refresher in "what is the point" of both Community groups and in church as a whole body. I hope my pastor(s) read and digest this and don;t just breeze through it. I have underlined so many are a few that struck me: "isolation is our respnse to sin. (pg. 42) Community is our response to reconciliation." and "I, like Paul, am concerned about the legacy of the church. That is why I wrote this book. "The number of seats we fill will not determie the legacy of our churches. the depthto which the gospel penetrates those lives will determine our legacy." (pg. 19) and also finally on page 42 "We cannot be content with the status quo of todday's church. Foundational to the work is the conviction that we were created for more, we have been redeemed for more, and we are empowered for more. This does not mean that we need to do more, but that we ARE more through the reconciling work of Jesus."

There is SO MUCH more to this book than great writing. There is a work of teaching, reference, direction, accountability and encouragement. This is a book I have gone back to more than once. And will continue to do so, I assure you.
