    I Also Recommend:

Always great stuff from Mike! Practice exams = w00t!

The book itself is simple to follow and easy to study with. What I liked most though was the accuracy of the practice exams!!! Holy cow! A bunch of the questions were almost word-for-word on the actual exams! And the exam software engine looks almost identical to the real exam too... I would have bought this just for the exams had I known it was going to help me so much! To be well-rounded, I also got "The Ultimate CompTIA A+ 2009 Resource Kit by Jean Andrews" and used it's practice exams & flash cards... Together these books helped me get over 90% on the tests.

The perfect introductory book for the A+ exams

I'm starting a career transition into Information Technology, and picked up this book for self study. What drew my attention to this book is the thoroughness of it. It starts off from the very basics of computer systems and gradually proceeds into a very detailed look at the topic. It's organization is very similar to the CompTIA objectives, and I can see it being my "go-to guide" in my new profession. It is an excellent book for self study.

    Highly Recommended!

I want to first start off by saying that this book is really helpful when it comes to learning how each individual component in a computer works. Or just when you're studying for the exam. I feel that if it were not this book, I wouldn't have done so well on the exam. I like the fact that it's in color, and hardcover (because i hate it when my covers rip). It's very easy to follow and understand.
The practice exams it includes are bar none. They're absolutely wonderful! The CD it includes is really awesome as well. The questions were so accurate that they were very similar to the questions on the actual exam. I would really recommend this book to someone who wants to learn how a computer works. Another great thing about this book is that the author makes it sound so simplistic, but really goes into depth so you can get a good feel of it and get it stuck in your brain so you can remember it when test day comes.

    Outstanding Book/ Great Value

This book is the best I have read for this topic. The chapters are well laid out. The writing is outstanding, very easy to comprehend. You can tell the writer loves his work as he puts himself, his experiences in the book. The included Compact Disk is a major PLUS. The compact disk has the book plus practice tests. You can't go wrong with this book!

Can't RESIZE Figures to be legible. BOO!

like the book I think, BUT NOOK is not suitable platform for a book so dependent on the use of Figures, screen shots of content, and no way to enlarge them as you can the font.

    Very Comprehensive

This book has everything you need to study for A+ certification. Even once you've been certified this book is great to keep around for reference. The questions in book and on disc are really good since they are very similar to the questions on the test.

A+ or not. If you just want to learn about computers and get to understand them in a way that would allow you to communicate problems to your pc repair guy or confidently perform upgrades or build a new system from scratch then this book will take you all the way.
