Tons of great money saving ideas
I actually picked up this book in the discount section when I bought it. I am glad I did though. This book has 1000s of helpful and easy money saving ideas. from cleaning, to re-using everyday things, and just ways to stretch your dollar. Most if not all were submitted by readers. I did come across some that were just ridiculous and some that were common sense like one that said "even though your shampoo says lather rinse and repeat, you only need to wash your hair once, my hair has never been so dirty that you have to wash it twice"

Well that one is just common sense and most people don't wash their hair twice anyway, on top of that I can't remember the last time I seen a shampoo bottle that said that.
But overall this book was great, I read the whole thing front to back it was like reading a good novel lol I was fascinated with all the ideas. Even if I paid more for the book it would of been worth it. -

The Best Frugal Book Out there
I absolutely love this book. It's one of those books that does NOT go in the bookshelf because you read it every day. Even if you don't do some of the items mentioned, it still puts you in a frugal mindset. What I love about this book is it gives you specific examples. When you read magazine articles and see things on talk shows on how to be frugal they give you very basic advice that you already know. Well the author goes into specific detail and I believe touches every area of your life with some basic frugalness. Don't hesitate to get this book. If you follow even a few of the things mentioned in it, you would pay yourself back for the cost of the book with the money you have been saving.

A reviewer
This book was a life saver to me (and still is) Some of the material is dated but what I have gained the most is 'inspiration' to live 'more with less'. Amy's writing is very entertaining and her life experience shows that it can be done. I had borrowed all 3 collections from the library but found I was taking so many notes it was worth the small investment. Includes the final newsletters not previously available.

Lots of great tips...
This book is jammed packed with all 3 of Amy's tightwad books. If there is a way to save money, its in this book. The only problems I found with this book were- its mostly geared towards families with children(which is good, but I'm single so some stuff in this book I wouldn't be able to use) and the book is a little outdated. There is hardly a mention of computers, or rising heating and gas prices, or things that are more popular today that weren't back when these books came out. All in all, I would still recommend this book!

Best Money Saving Book Out There
I've owned or read nearly every major money saving book on the market. This one is by far the best. I reread it at least once a year and pick up different tips from it that I had not incorporated into our lifestyle. So much information; takes time to absorb it all. Very honest book and written with humor.

Wonderful & Practical Book
I love Amy's book! In our society, the pressure to spend, spend, spend is everywhere - tv, magazines/newspapers, stores, 'keeping up with the Jones', etc. Amy brings reality to the reader that spending money for 'new & improved' is wasteful & ridiculous! I wish I had read her books earlier. I thought we were thrifty before reading her book but I can't help but think how much more money we could have saved if we had applied her principles earlier. This is a great book for everybody!!!

Great Stuff, this book!
If you are simply struggling to spend less than you earn, or if you are saving for some future goal, Amy's book would be a welcome addition to your life. Amy's perspective is radical to be sure, but I would argue that so is the amount of advertising that every one of us is exposed to everyday. My wife and I have been married for several years and are making every attempt to pay off our student loans early so our income is freed up for other pursuits. This book serves us as a helpful antidote to the constant pressure around us to spend, spend, spend. My favorite quote from the book is from a person who wrote in to say when she first saw Amy on TV (The Donahue Show) she thought, ¿Sheesh, how extreme can you be.¿ Then several years later when she was struggling financially, she thought, ¿Sheesh, how extremely in debt can I be¿ and went out and bought Amy¿s book. Besides being helpful, I also found Amy¿s style to be quite entertaining.

Good and very informative
This was a very informative book. I found some things wonderful (ie: how to keep bananasfresher longer) But some of the information would cause more effort than they are worth.

A Great Read
This is a great book for anyone trying to control expenses and get a grip on their wallet. Amy gives great advice, and how-tos with a touch of humor. Sometimes a bit over the top, still worth the read for anyone who thinks their spending can be in better control!
