A Seder When You Have Young Children
You'd love to have a traditional seder service, but the children will never sit for an hour and a half before eating. Many of your guests don't read or understand Hebrew. Yet, you want more than a dinner. You want tradition. The Concise Family Seder will serve you well. You may want to slightly change the order of things, but with a little page shuffling, you can include virtually everything in the seder service, prior to the meal, in about 20 minutes or less, with the exception of Birkat (grace after meals). My family has a long traditional Conservative history, but there are many new family members who are new to Judaism and Jewish celebrations. The Concise Family Seder does a wonderful job of making it comfortable for everyone to participate and understand the service.
