    more from this reviewer

fun book of a man making it in a womans world

I have to say, I enjoyed this book. It was never too HEAVY, it was never disgusting, it was never too graphic, there was just a perfect balance of medical dialog and humor, exactly what I wanted and expected when I read the title. If you are looking for a deep, in depth book about nursing, look elsewhere, if you are looking for a nice, fun book about a man in a female world, this a great book to read.

This was a great book and I would recommend it to anyone. There

This was a great book and I would recommend it to anyone. There were a lot of parts that had me laughing so hard tears came out my eyes. I love that the man who wrote this book was able to keep a sense of humor through all the trials of his nursing career. There are also some sad stories too. I was sad myself when this book came to an end. I really enjoy reading books about other peoples experiences especially when it's done with humor. I can't believe no one else had reviewed this book yet. I guess I get to be the first. =o)

    This is delightful reading!

One of the best ebooks I've paid for and worth every penny! This was written with humor and pathos. I felt as if I was right there, experiencing all the highs and lows of nursing care. The only thing I disliked was his using the "F" word ... even though I know it was a quote. Thankfully, it was only used a few times.
I also liked the way he explained the differences between the health care systems in New Zealand and the UK, since it's very different from the United States.
I highly recommend this delightful book.

Great easy read! I work in the medical field with all women nurses + it was nice to "hear" from a man's point of view in the nursing field.

    Pretty good little book.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was written in language you could understand, and not medicalese. I began to understand more what went on in the medical profession, and to realize that everyone just does his or her best. Sometimes mistakes are made, sometimes humorously and sometimes not, understandably because of the shortage ofnurses everywhere.

    not much substance

I really did not care for this book. It was not interesting, to me. I have read other books similar to this one, that had me in "stitches".

It's okay. Most of it takes place in England, where they use different terminology--say thing different.

I was a little disappointed in that it took place in English Hospitals where the terminology is different and they have ways of doing things that I don't think we do here.

    Interesting but no plot?

It was a string of mildly interesting anecdotes but there was nothing compelling the story forward in that "what happens next?" kind of way. I didn't really feel like I got to know the author.
