    Very Helpful Teaching Aide

I teach theater to primary students and it is often hard to find quick, good audition pieces that are staight forward for this age group. This book has helped me provide audition materials for my students that are well played out as well as age appropriate. Even my second graders have no problem grasping the material right away and diving into character.

    I Also Recommend:

Great book of Monologues for Kids! My daughter had success with it!

I think this is the best monologue book for kids I have read so far. My daughter has tried some from other books but they just sound unrealistic or there is no beginning, middle and end. This book has both comedy and dramatic monologues for kids. My daughter loves this book and she got signed with an agent using a monologue from this collection. I ordered Janet Milstein's new monologue book for kids, Winners' Competition Series, but I have not received it yet. That one is all comedy, which her agent and her acting teacher both said is the most important type of monologue for younger kids to have prepared. I highly recommend this collection and author.

    Not exactly

I purchased this book for my 11 year. It is so difficult to find G and PG rated monoloques for kids. Unfortunatly this on is not it. It has very few monoloques and I found one that was acceptable. That is nothing to write home about. Skiip this one

    Not worth the money!

If you are looking for a basic monologue that has no real artistic value, and will basically be a piece you can resight, so that the people you are auditioning for know you can memorize; Buy this book. If you are looking for real monologues that will help you show your potential, DON'T buy this book. As someone who has been in theater since I was very young, went to college for theater, I was completely unimpressed with this book for my daughters. There was nothing of value in it. Very disappointing!
