Mediocre at Best
Ms. London did an adequate job of establishing Kate's reasons for her somewhat dubious occupation as opposed to the typically virtuous heroine. However, the chemistry between the hero and heroine took too long to establish, if it was ever established at all. Admittedly, I stopped being interested in their story halfway through the book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
I was interested enough in their fates to skip to the end. I'd hoped to find something enticing in the last few chapters that would pique my curiosity enough for me to turn back and find out all the juicy details.
Unfortunately, there wasn't. There was some pontificating on the part of the Duke as he lectured a room full of his peers on their self-righteousness. There was a family reunion of sorts. And there was the obligatory "I love you" exchange.
Regrettably, this potentially extraordinary love story turned out to fall flat.
