I love cowboy romances that also have a great family feel and Brenda Minton brings that combination to the table in a lovely way. This book is a winner.

    Another winner in the series

In her trademark series about cowboys and the community of Dawson, Oklahoma, Brenda Minton delves into real-life issues as she wraps the reader in warm romance. The Cowboy's Family delivers on both counts. Wyatt Johnson is recovering from his wife's suicide. Rachel Waters is a pastor's daughter who is trying to find her place in the world while struggling with past food and body issues. The couple has become this reader's favorite of the series. The hero shines as a good father and creates sympathy as a beleaguered older brother. The heroine is like so many women who hide behind responsibilities to others and put off their own dreams. Their interactions with each other, their family and friends are a pleasure to read. Their struggles to arrive at the place where their faith overcomes their fears provide a solid lesson in overcoming grief, trusting God, and moving forward. This romance is a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate for a cold winter's night. Treat yourself.

    Good Read

This was a very moving story, from a family torn apart by death and the resulting anxieties, to learning to move on and open their hearts again. The kids were adorable. One of my favorite tear jerker moments was when the girls sent messages on balloons to their mommy in heaven. While Wyatt is dealing with the pain of his past, Rachel has her own and is just as affected. Wanting so much to belong not just to somewhere, but to someone special. From sadness, to great original humor, to warm family moments, sibling banter, friendship and drama, this one had a wonderful mix of everything and flowed easily. We also got to see some familiar characters again in Ryder and Andie, as well as some fun new ones, the Coopers. Journeys and happy endings, another great addition to the series.
