very cute

My daughter is obsessed with horses and every Wednesday checks out another Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa book. This one is a cute story. Cocoa wanting to live in the house and eat people food. My daughter definitely gets a giggle from this book.

    Adorable and funny

Being that this is the first book in the series we cant wait to get more! The chapters are each short stories so it holds a young child's attention and it is very funny! The horse is always hungry and asking for food and Kate gets annoyed which makes me and my 2yr old laugh. The pictures are also adorable. Very cute read with a lesson that taking care of each other and teamwork pay off even if it isn't always fun.

My 4 Year Old Loves It.

A fun book. Cocoa has quite a personality. Cowgirl Kate is always there to help him figure things out. My 4 year old just laughs at all the crazy things that Cocoa does.

When the seasons change and fall comes around, it's time for Kate to go to school. Cocoa isn't too thrilled with the fact, as the four short, easy-to-read chapters of the book show.

In MARY'S LAMB, Cocoa is determined to follow Kate and her school bus all the way to school, until he realizes that the faster she gets there, the quicker she'll return back home.

With THE PORTRAIT, Cocoa helps Kate with her homework assignment, which involves painting a picture.

A NEW FRIEND introduces Kate's schoolmate, Jenny, who Cocoa is determined not to like, until Kate reassures her best friend that nothing will ever take the place of her horse.

In A REPORT, Kate and Cocoa both realize that Cocoa is the best one to help with a school report on horses!

The COWGIRL KATE AND COCOA series is great for beginning readers, or for a quick and fun read before bed. This one is no exception, and the lessons learned in the story are ones that everyone can relate to.

The lovable duo of Cowgirl Kate and her horse, Cocoa, are back - this time for some fun (and not-so-fun) adventures in the rain.

Cocoa isn't so sure about being outside during a thunderstorm, even if the thought of racing the wind sounds exciting. He may just get his chance, though - on the way back to the safety of the barn! Pretending to have a cold might give Cocoa an idea of what a sick cow would feel like, but missing out on timothy grass, apples, and corn is not appealing. When it comes to wearing a rain sheet, Cocoa isn't much for the idea. It looks silly, and besides, prancing in the puddles is so much fun! Until you're dripping wet and shivering, that is. After the rain, the air is fresh, the grass is sweet, and the joy of chasing the pot of oats at the end of the rainbow can't be beat.

Once again, author Erica Silverman and illustrator Betty Lewin bring to life the tales of one cowgirl and her sweet horse. The books in this series are perfect for beginning readers, and the love between a young girl and her horse perfectly describes the true meaning of friendship.

    A Great Book about Friendship

My daughters love this book. Kate and Cocoa show children both the joys and difficulties involved in being a good friend. Even though each chapter seems like a different short story, they capture the interest of even the youngest readers. we look forward to more adventures with our new friends.
