    Life Changing

This book has taught me more about goal setting than I could have imagined. No wonder I didn't get to my goal in the past! I enjoyed each chapter and will refer to them often. This should be required reading for everyone!

    Outstanding!

One of the things I love about my job as a career coach is that as part of my "continuing education" I can indulge my passion for reading books about career reinvention. I'll admit that having read so many books over the years, I now tend to scan more than read. But every once in a while, I read something so fresh, so compelling and so on target -- that I actually slow down, take notes and savor every word.

If you want a life-changing book that will really make a difference in your resolve to create a more fulfilling life, get a copy of Creating Your Best Life: The Ultimate Life List Guide by Caroline Miller. It is one of the best books I've read in a very long time. Unlike so many of the "rah-rah" self help books on the market that are heavy on cheerleading but light on substance, this book is rooted in scientific research that validates the importance of meaningful goal setting in creating successful outcomes. Highly recommended!

You Can Make a Difference for Yourself

Caroline Miller proves that we CAN make a difference in our own lives. In a clearly written, step-by-step fashion, Miller leads us from where we are (most of us not as happy with our lives as we want to be, if we're really being honest) to where we want to be for having a happier and more fulfilling life. Yet, she does it without sounding preachy or goody-goody. This is a book meant as a guide, with plenty of space provided for completing the exercises. Here's to the bucket lists!

    Highly recommend

I loved interactive content and principle of this book: marrying the science of positive psychology with the science of goal setting. I actively engaged in the life list exercises and worksheets as I read, and to my benefit, completed the book with not only a growing 'bucket list,' and ‘Jolts of Joy,’ but also a firm mission statement for my coaching practice. This book is definitely a keeper for life. As a coach, I see myself referencing it often with clients and returning to it for annual check-ups on my own goal progress.
    Respectfully,

“Creating Your Best Life” by Caroline Miller is a he

“Creating Your Best Life” by Caroline Miller is a heartfelt book that is akin to having a portable mentor. This is because “Creating Your Best Life” contains some novel ideas on combining personal dreams with practicality. I have been fortunate in being able to live on my own since the age of 19. However, I admit that I have learned various lessons through a combination of trial and error, logic, and intuition. From my humble perspective, “Creating Your Life” includes information that I am thankful to be aware of now, but that I only wish I knew much sooner. The following is a microcosmic sampler of what is discussed from an expansive range of helpful data:
Pages eight to twenty-seven: Michael Phelps and Lou Holtz are two men that are listed as case studies on how they achieve their goals. Miller and Frisch also share tips on building efficacy.
Pages thirty-six to eighty-five: The mood-boosting effects of “Best Self” journaling are discussed. In a happy way, the “Best Self” exercise reminds me of the “Journal of the Future” exercise listed in “The Vision Board” by Joyce Schwarz. There is a feature story regarding what inspired the singer of the Plain White T’s to sing “Hey There Delilah.” ”Goal scrapbooks”, “Happiness Houses”, and willpower boosters are only a few of the exciting concepts covered in this section.
Pages two hundred and seven to two-hundred and fifty-four: Miller and Frisch share their advice on how to savor life. The suggestion on page 208 to discontinue making upward social comparisons resonated strongly with me. Techniques on personal reinvention on pages 213-220 are also exciting to me. Last, but not least, doing the “Three Blessings” exercise on page 254 boosted my mood.
“Creating Your Best Life” by Caroline Adams Miller and Dr. Michael Frisch is best for those who enjoy having a “portable mentor” and/or reading unique ideas on increasing personal quality of life.
