We really hit the ground running in this newest V.I. Warshawski novel. A modern day murder takes the reader on a journey into the horror and the era of World War II as she searches for answers to questions that continue to change throughout the story. Wonderfully written, it picks at some old scabs and shines light on some of the lesser known facets of war time and post-war time activities in Europe and in the US. A great read!

Did not hold my attention but that may be because of the

Subject matter the bomb. I prefer an era less recent. Discounting personal taste in subject matter this is a good read and will please fans then it is a five. If you have not read any of the series before you should read one or two

I thought it was wonderful! The author tied in WWII Austria and the current case for Vic. It is not a quick read because of all the physics,
but was well worth it. I thought it was excellent.

    Highly Recommended

I have read all Sara Paretsky's books. Can't wait for the next V.I. Warshawski story to come out.

    One of Her Best

I thought this was a terrific book and the writing is some of Paretsky's best. The characters are full and fleshed out which adds great readability to the book. It keeps you guessing right to the end.

    New favorite VI novel

I loved the details in this latest book. The juxtaposition of meth labs with historical developments of physics, nuclear weapons, computers + the Holocaust kept the plot moving.
