This is not what it seems
I was very interested in this book. I crochet many items from afghans and sweaters to toys and baby items. The ideas in this book are absolutely enchanting, but when looking at the instructions I noticed they are different from other American crochet publications. They are British stitches. If you are used to using American terminology, you will have to transpose every direction. For me, it was not worth the hassle. The reader is not even warned of the difference. It is really unfortunate that the publisher did not bother to publish an American version and a British version. The photos of the finished finger puppets are really cute but these instructions are not worth my time.

Awesome crochet book once you translate it!
The previous reviewer was correct, this book was written in Great Britain and they do use different terms and abbreviations than Americans. When I first started to use the book, I almost returned it because of that fact. However, it takes little time to realize that their double crochet is our single crochet (it is discussed in the book) and the glossary in the back of the book helps out a lot! Adorable patterns well worth the extra work. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
