Finally in ebook!
It’s wonderful to see Patricia Gaffney’s historical romance becoming available as ebooks; she writes some of the best prose in the genre and shouldn’t be missed. You never know quite what you’ve going to get from Gaffney, in terms of period, characters or style: Crooked Hearts, the story of two charmingly larcenous characters in late 1800’s California, is one of her funniest books, as Rueben and Grace try to outwit each other, are forced to join forces, and wind up falling in love. Was this review helpful? There’s just something irresistible about romances in which both characters are on the shady side; I'm still smiling at how both of them find themselves willing to give everything up for love, despite neither trusting the other an inch.
If you've never read Gaffney's romance and are wary of the "old skool" elements in some of her books, this would be a great place to start; it hasn't dated at all.
