    Bad summer reading choice.

This book is probably the worst book you can read as a kid. The first chapter is about grass. GRASS!!! then, chapers 10-18 are about a walk and some questions. The book is only popular because 8th graders have to read it as a requirement, if not, then in high school.

    Cry The Beloved Country

This was a horrible book. The whole first chapter even though it was only two pages long was basically describing the grass. The only reason the book is as popular as it is is that it is required reading for every student in 8th grade or if not then, then in high school. I highly don't suggest that any child read this book unless they want to be bored out of their mind.

'Why I'm fleeing South Africa ' - by Anne Paton (widow of Alan Paton

As a South African who believes in human rights and also fought against apartheid, I am appalled by the state of lawlessness and crime the country now suffers from. But read for yourself what Mrs. Anne Paton said when she fled the country. http://www.ourcivilisation.com/cry.htm or http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a36672ffb7784.htm It seems however that the world prefers to turn a blind eye on what is happening there now. Bad Book

This book was terrible! I read it in my English nine honors class. It was not good at all. The content was nice but it was too choppy and broken down to get into. It would have you one place and then with no reason at all it would jump to another place that was in no way related. In summary I would rather read a menu at an Italian resturant.

    Slow, confusing & dull

I read this book for English 9 Honors. This book contains the theme of movement because of all of the goods and people moving in and out of Johannesburg. I learned that the settling of white people in Africa was very hard for the blacks because of the power white people had. I also noticed that there was a lot of rasicm going on in the book too. This book is far from my interests. It was too slow if it moved along at all. The book was pretty much about the same thing over and over. A repitition of about 1 chapter 25 times. Also, I didn't like the use of Afrikaan words. It made the book more confusing and harder to understand. There isn't a single person I would recommend this book to. It was too dull and confusing.
