Love what's naturally you!

The girl on the cover is what convinced me to buy this book; I figured that anyone who could make natural curls look that good was worth a shot. Definitely a good investment! This book breaks down different curl types and how to care for them, including a section on how to trim your own hair (for every curly girl who's hair has been chopped, razored and sliced by ordinary hairdressers). Though the system feels unnatural at first (no hair brushes, only washing your scalp with sulfate free shampoo, no straightening) I promise you that your hair will be gorgeous! Within a few weeks, you will see a total trasformation. The author even worked with chemists to create her own brand of curl-friendly hair products, but she still explains how to select your own products from a typical store. Well researched and well worth your while.

Great so far!

I started the cg method about 3 months ago without purchasing the book ... just listening to youtubers...it was a good move to buy the book... it has helpful tips and good references for all curly girls ....i also luv tht she does not push her products...she gives recipes and recommends any botanical comditoner ... i am a black woman with "4 a" hair and this book is helpful for me too ...i like thay she incorporated all curl types bc sometimes sistas get left out.

Such a Helpful Book

I have curly hair and have worn my hair in every style, except in it's natural curly state. This summer was so hot that I was forced to give in. There was no way that flat ironing would last even 30 minutes in the heat and humidity. I purchased the book to get tips on how to care for my curls and I am so happy that I did. There are beautiful pictures and videos that can be viewed with the Color Nook. There are also detailed descriptions and recipes for easy to make products for the hair. This book is a recommended read and an essential go-to guide for all curly girls.

Excellent Handbook

Curly Girl is the best information book you will find to take care of curly hair. We grow up thinking its a curse but with all the recommendations and easy remedies, your curls will become beautiful and the envy of all who want them. An extremely easy to use resource. Wish I had it thirty years ago when I was in high school. This is the best information around with all kinds of easy homemade tonics to remedy the frizz that curly hair often encounters with the weather. Every curly haired individual man or woman, young or old should have one of these books at home or give it to a friend as a gift.

I still love my curls

If you have curls, or if you have a child with curls, this book (like its predecessor) is a must-have. The care instructions given may seem a bit strange, but they really work. My own hair has been amazing since I started this routine, and my daughter won't have to spend half her life hating her hair like I did.

Fantastic. A must read for curly girls

This book is so helpful. For years I've struggled with my curly hair and how to deal with frizz. This book provides so many helpful hints. I've followed the advice and also use Devacurl products and it has made a huge difference with my hair. Thank you Lorraine Massey!

Life-Changing Curly Hair Bible!

I bought this book for my mom, after hearing about a friend rave over it. She read it immediately, and said that she was actually in tears, because it was so nice to read about someone with similar childhood experiences to hers. She learned some valuable tips, such as washing her hair without shampoo, which have made a nice difference in her very-curly hair. She keeps this book on her nightstand!

If you have curly hear, it's a MUST read!!

This book is just enlightening!
I have had extremely curly hair my whole life, and have had trouble keeping it nice. This book gave me the tools I need to have phenomenal hair and not only it tells you what to do and what not to do, it also tells you why.
It is one of those books that I will be going back to when I have questions about my crazy curly hair!

As a mostly straight haired mama to two beautiful curly girls, I needed this book. At 4 and 5 my girls have had frizzy, unmanageable hair because I treated their hair like my hair. I am now learning how to manage their hair and have it look healthy, beautiful and curly! Thank you so much for this guide. Without it, I fear my girls would grow to dislike their hair because I did not know that curly hair needed a different routine than straight hair (although even I no-poo and cowash and have benefited from it greatly)!

Highly Recommended: Hair Type 4B-4C

I really like this book. As a mother of two daughters I have had to learn to care for three different hair textures. There is something for everyone in this book. I have noticed a huge difference in softness and managebility of my hair. My hair texure is 4B-4C natural without any chemicals(relaxers,texturizers). I also like the videos included in the enhanced version. There a demonstration via video that shows you exactly how to care for every hair type. A must have for all curlies and transitioning curlies.

Saved me!

This book is amazing! I have struggled with flat irons, blow dryers and frizzies because of my curly hair. Because of the advice in this book I no longer struggle with my curls or with frizzies. I actually LOVE my curls now!!!

If you have curly or wavy hair, you must read this book. I have started following the recommendations from this book and my hair has never looked better. It really works!

Calling All Curly Girls

I wish I had this book 10 years ago. It is amazing, the detail and pictures and the videos. If you are a curly girl, black, white, brown, or anything in between or mixed in together. BUY THIS BOOK! There is no substitute for this kind of information and affirmation to a naturally curly hair woman (or man).

Recommended for curly haired girls!

I think this book is a bible for curly haired girls ... Or guys! With so many years of fighting the curls, it is great to finally learn how to live with them! Maybe the book is heavy on product use but it does tell you how to make your own if you are interested. I am not sure I will be cutting my own hair any time soon but I do now know how to look for a stylist with curly hair experience!

I would recommend this book to anyone who has curly hair and is tired of the daily battle to keep it straight. The Deva Curl products work great and this book tells you exactly what you need to do to make your type of curls look great.

Get this book!! You'll never want to mistreat your head again. I'm finally on my way to a healthy scalp and hair, and I'm so excited I've told quite a few other curlies. If I ever make it to NYC I'd love to go to Lorraine's place!!
