Number one, by far!!!

One of the few movies that literally makes my eyes well up with tears from the emotion. A few scenes are automatic in their power: 1.Scrooge muttering ''Forgive me, Fan'', as he watches his sister die after childbirth: 2.Bob Cratchit mustering up the strength to tell his family about Tiny Tim's gravesite: 3.Scrooge reveling in his newfound happiness on Christmas Morning. Awesome stuff. Alistair Sim is picture perfect, and the rest of the cast is wonderful. Also, the colorization, in my opinion, makes it even better.

I read the book by Charles Dickens and liked it and I have seen several of the many different movie adaptations and liked them but this one with Alastair Sim is my favorite. The movie is wonderful and he is superb as Ebenezer Scrooge. My only complaint is with the DVD it is poorly made. The picture and sound quality are poor and the menu design is poor! Other companies have put out DVD's for this movie and unfortunately they are poorly made too. A good company needs to restore this movie and put out a top quality DVD!

This version DOES NOT have the cartoon Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, or the special introdution by Patrick Macnee like it says RIGHT ON THE BACK OF THE COVER! Buyer beware! I feel jipped...
