    Purchased for a Friend

My friend became a widow recently after a long and happy marriage. She spoke fondly of this film and I found it for her at B&N. She LOVED it. I think watching inspirational films helps her
through some of the lonely hours.

    beautiful,,,and uplifting-a ''bonnie'' movie !!!

being a Scottish-American,this movie was immensely inspirational to times, when i feel as if i am off-course or losing my direction,i pull this movie out and watch it.''a man called peter'' has never failed to lift me up and warm my heart.i am glad that peter marshalls sermons were left pretty much uncut.his descriptions of Jesus as a man with strong hands,well-built,muscular. a carpenter who loved people,''all kinds of people''...not a ''mamby-pamby,mealy-mouth'' man agrees with my own feelings about the true Christ that is in my own heart.but the movie is more than a story of faith.its a guide-book for our treatment of our fellow man.its about honesty and courage.about honor and spite of the fact that i have seen it more than 10 times,it still moves me to tears when he delivers his sermon about death to the naval academies midshipmen and sad story of the young dying boy asking his mother about ''what is it like to die?''..the film still gives me goose-bumps and makes me realize why i love this country so much.thanks to richard todd, jean peters and an outstanding cast delivering great great performances...

    A Movie for our Time

What was a major movie of its time with international stars - and on the international circuit - contains within it christian messages which are still timely and easily digested by the churched and the unchurched. It is therefore a powerful evangelistic tool and an aid to flagging faith. Co-incidentally, for those in the UK, it is a true story of a Scottish lad whose closeness to God made a significant impact on the leaders of the most powerful nation on earth!

    An Inspiring and credible movie

I would just like to know what the title of his wife's book was so that I can look it over. I'd love to read his sermons. He had such a warm sensibility in his sermons. They weren't too lofty - as though we could not aspire to live up to his preachings. His lectures can be a modern guide, and I'd like to read them.

Richard Todd and Jean Peters' Performances: Inspirational!

If you have faith in God, or if you don't, this movie will make you want more of what these two,Todd and Peters, portray in acting out the lives of Dr. and Mrs. Peter Marshall. We need more movies like this, that inspire the best in us. This one is high in my top 10 movies for cutting to the core of what ''it'' (life) is all about! Rave, Rave, Rave, Rave, Rave!!!!!
